With MeMinder 3.5, you have the ability to set timers for tasks.
Setting timers will notify the person served when it’s time to do a task, even when they’re not using MeMinder.

Add a timer to an existing task:

  • Make sure you have at least MeMinder 3.5 installed on your Android or iOS device
  • To check your MeMinder version, log into the MeMinder App
  • Press and hold the MeMinder logo for 3 seconds to unlock the settings icon, then click the settings icon.
  • In the settings menu, You’ll see the MeMinder version in the top right
  • You cannot use timers to notify the person you serve without MeMinder version 3.5
  • Log into BEAM.CARE with the same credentials you use to log into the MeMinder App.
  • Select the system that contains the tasks you want to make timers for
  • Go to System Configuration in the menu area
  • In the Features table on the System Configuration page, check the box for MeMinder Timed Items, and press Update Display Settings button
  • Next, select Personal List from the menu. The Personal List is the collection of tasks that are being sent to MeMinder for the person-served to mark as complete.
  • Click on the clock icon on the particular task you’d like to add a timer to.
  • Enter the desired time, date, and interval to notify the person you support to do this task. Press the green Submit button.

A Notification will then be pushed to the MeMinder device when it’s time to do that task. Repeat this process with other tasks you’d like to add timers to.

One of MeMinder’s more powerful functions is the ability to have private groups to share lists with each other.

To create a back-up group on BEAM.CARE:

  • Login to BEAM.CARE
  • After logging into BEAM, select the system you would like to host backups from
  • Then select MeMinder Backups from the black menu column on the left side of the page
  • Scroll to the  bottom of the meminder backups to a section labeled “Create a new MeMinder backup sharing group
  • Enter the name of the group you want to create, for example:  JanitorialTasks

Note: You currently cannot use any special characters or spaces for group names

  • Hit submit
  • The MeMinder Backups page will refresh as it creates your group

Sharing back-ups to a group

  • Now you can select the group you created in the dropdown menu of your backups.

Note: if you have no backups on the system, you can create them from the options menu in MeMinder 3.3, or retrieve them from Publicly Shared Backups section of MeMinder Backups on BEAM

  • Select your group on the backup you want to share and press “Share With Group
  •  After the page reloads, scroll down to the section “Groups you are a member of
  • You will see the group you created here.
  • Press the button with your group name to navigate to the group page
  • Here you will see 3 sections:
  •  The backups section, you will see the backup you added to this group.
  • An area where you can invite users by their entering their BEAM username and pressing submit
  • Users that are currently in the group, and an option to delete the group.
  • If you are the recipient of a group invite, your invitation will appear in at the top of the MeMinder backups page,
  •  press accept to join the group,
  • If you dismiss the invite by mistake, you will have to be reinvited by the group’s owner.

Adding new items in BEAM

A key part of managing MeMinder is adding and configuring list items for the person you support

To add new items:

  • On any browser, log in to BEAM.CARE with your MeMinder login credentials
  • Choose or create the system you wish to add tasks to
  • Click “Select Items” on the left-hand side of the page
  • Click the checkboxes for any premade tasks you’d like to use from the “PERSONAL CARE”, “VOCATIONAL” or “EDUCATIONAL” tabs, or create your own tasks in the “CUSTOM ITEMS” tab.

Items you select are added to the “Configure Plan” section of BEAM, and will not appear in MeMinder until you add them to the Personal List from the “Configure Plan” section of BEAM

  • Press “Configure Plan” on the menu panel to set-up notifications, and configure days of the week you would like the tasks to appear in MeMinder.
    When you’re satisfied, click “Add” under the “Add to PL” column.
  • Once you’ve clicked the blue “Add”, that item will appear in the Personal List, and consequently on the MeMinder app.

Ordering items in the MeMinder App

Once you’ve added tasks to the personal list, you’ll want to order those tasks on your tablet in MeMinder.

  • First, press and hold the MeMinder logo for 3 seconds to unlock the settings icon, then click the settings icon.
  • In the settings, uncheck “Show Talking Pictures View” and press the green check mark in the uppermost right hand corner to enter the caregiver’s list view.
  • Determine what order you’d like the tasks to appear, and swipe left on the task you would like to appear first. Press the edit icon.
  • To make the task appear first, select the leftmost color group, green.

Note: “PRE” tasks will hide all subsequent tasks from your student until they mark the PRE tasks as completed. “POST” tasks will remain hidden until all preceding tasks are marked as completed.

  • If there are related tasks that you want to appear directly after your first task, mark those the same color, in the order you want them to appear.
  • To make the next task or group of tasks appear after the green tasks, mark them as blue, then orange, etc.
  •  To reorder tasks of the same color group, re-designate them the same color in the order you want them to appear.
