A meaningful and fulfilling job is not out of reach for people with intellectual disabilities (ID) such as autism or a traumatic brain injury (TBD). With our interactive apps and systems, CreateAbility helps individuals with disabilities succeed in their workplace and make productive contributions to their community. Our solutions maximize their employability and achieve sustainable employment by providing aid to both employer and worker.
MeMinder
Many people with an ID have memory and sequencing challenges which can lead to difficulties and frustrations for both employee and manager. Minimize these frustrations with MeMinder, a mobile app that can provide task management, video modeling or a talking pictures to-do list.
The MeMinder app works with CreateAbility’s cloud to help people with the right permissions to monitor what tasks were completed and grants the ability to modify the tasks and schedules. These changes are then automatically updated on the MeMinder app. You can add customized tasks or choose from the hundreds of tasks already preprogramed into the app.
For the worker with an ID, it facilitates decision making and communication using images or video with audio instruction to help them to remember instructions. It provides steps for completing multi-step tasks and also has a space for supervisor feedback. Many families have found that MeMinder combined with CreateAbility’s Independence Builder provides the structure for their son or daughter at work and home.

Assembly Advisor
Often people with an ID such as autism often have the ability to focus on repetitive tasks for a long period of time. This can open up employment opportunities in assembly and distribution industries. Assembly Advisor can facilitate greater opportunities and independence in these employment settings without compromising safety or quality.
It guides the worker through a series of prompts that allows them to assemble more complex products which affords them employment opportunities in small to large product assembly operations such as:
- multi-part mailers
- meal-ready-to-eat (MRE) packets
- candy or chocolate samplers
- medical supplies
Assembly Advisor is customized to the specific tasks required. A display above the work area demonstrates the task while a pleasant sounding voice provides verbal instructions to guide the employee. A series of sensors verify the proper pulling of parts or material at the proper time and also detect where this component is placed.
This video shows an example of assembling a medical kit. Contact us today to learn if this is a fit for your organization.
WhenWear Advisor (coming soon)
A supervisor or manager of an individual with ID can decrease miscommunication and improve the individual’s quality of work by utilizing the benefits of prompting technology. With the WhenWear Advisor, supervisors can act as an ally.
While people with ID have shown success using prompting technology, an obstacle for their supervisor is often the complex process of recording and adjusting the prompts and instructions. WhenWear Advisor dramatically simplifies this task by helping these supervisors search a nationwide source of pre-built instructions and tailor or adjust selections for specific needs.
The prompter and cloud services, called MeMinder, are available now from CreateAbilty. The WhenWear prompter is available through SourceAmerica. The supervisory tool, WhenWear Advisor, will be available soon.
